i like to read it every now and then when i get bored and
could i thank you for the kind words
you did so well to hide the fact you only wanted to score

i know it must have been hard
but you have always been giving

looking back at all the games you played
i probably should have but
you know that i just didn't see
i have learned from the mistakes i made
and i could never be the person that you want me to be
and now i'm staring at that birthday card
i got a pocket full of matches
and the feeling is strong
light it up as i watch it burn
