Like a pencil drained, i sit uselessly beside you.
i can see you deteriorating, dying slowly.
leaving me alone, forever.
i thought i'd escaped?
i thought you'd led me to the safety i yearned.
but really you were leading me deeper,
into my own darkness and depression.
how did i not see it coming?
you'd already blindfolded me.
is that all i am?
someone you drained then tossed aside?
a useless bit of scrap paper no longer used?
