The Art of Letting Go
the art of letting go
is losing all control
on everything i hold
the fear of the unknown
is slowly getting old
the more i grow the less i know
i wanna find my peace again
maybe then i'll sleep again
waking up at 5am
& find the light to breathe again
meditation medication
i think i might need some help
pick up living by the book
but then i'd have to read again
when u stop looking that's the right place for ya
when u stop searching that's the right brain for ya
take a half a step away
i'm feeling rather blessed today
what happens happened yesterday
(i got nothing left to say)

it’s easy to forget
that we could breathe & reset
but the first step is admittin
& accepting regret
all this internal dialogue
got me working like a dog
running lines of monologue
pop another tylenol
my guilty conscious
is a confident kid
perfecting my perspective
isn’t flipping a switch
i been shining lights
on all the demons i carry
maybe naming them
will make them less scary
we got jimmy we got gary
there goes frankie & carrie
one is selfish one is greedy
one is evil one is very
convincing that everything
that’s going wrong is my fault
& garrett making sense of it all
i know
what's next doesn't matter
so “what really matters?”
the answer happens after we find
that we’re all no more than matter
& that nothing really matters
