Was a storm that washed me ashore
An internal civil war
My soul adrift, my body moored
A lullaby from a cave by the coast
Like a gentle, familiar ghost
Beckons with a steady pulse
And it goes

Shut the blinds and
Hit the lights and run into the dark
A narrow hallway
Like a cave that leads back to the start
Keep having dreams I can fly, till I notice I'm falling
Keep waking up in the night with a light in my doorway
A door closes, a window opens
In this cold, horizontal abyss
A welcome paralysis
My new home, a chrysalis
