The first noël, the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
In a cold winter's night that was so deep

And they offered there with deep reverence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense
And there they all sang with one accord
Their glorious praises to out Heavenly Lord

And by the light of a shining star
Three wise men came from country far
And the wise men three then stopped and stayed
At the holy place where the sweet Jesus lay
