Sun Shine

Sun Shine
I'm on a ferry, sailing to manly
we watch waves collide, my girl by my side
an old lady reads mills and boon whilst another
does crosswords, and some just stare back at me
and i doubt they're aware that i'm writing about them
but i guess that it's possible they're writing about me

and the sun shines
on the top of the clouds
while rain, it drives down
on all we can see
and the sun shines
on the good and the evil
and just like the sun,
so we should be

there's a guy over there dreads in his hair
eating fish and chips, i wouldn't mind a bit
to ask would be rude, though my stomach wants food
my girl bought me doughnuts, they're a little too sweet
and i don't know if he's righteous or godly
but i know that love's not apportioned that way
