The more flowers you grow
the more spiders will come
and they've gotten all plump from eating all summer long
the days are getting shorter and the leaves begin to fall
what used to be high strung
has slowed to protocol

we twirl and we spin and we cash ourselves in

the more dollars you get
the more pennies you'll pinch
till your pockets are so full
